I have said, "Don't call it a comeback!  I've been here for years!" - LL COOL J

What do I mean?  I mean that I have not gone anywhere when it comes to Edgemont.  When I was a little boy, there was only certain areas in Moreno Valley you can live because there was no Moreno Valley.  Sunnymead, Edgemont, Moreno, and March AFB.  There was not much out here but orange groves, grass land, rocks, dirt, and desert.  I am one of a few people in my age group that actually saw the growth of the city.  I also saw the downturns, but I am still here!  Edgemont was one of the cornerstones of the city and yet we have been left behind.  How did this happen?  Well, does that really matter at this stage of the game?  The question is what can we do to fix the problem and bring Edgemont out of the late 1970's and bring development and a new water system to the residents.  We already know District 5 has suffered from very bad leadership for many years.  The recently recalled councilwoman is just one of the many council people who take our district and Edgemont as a political football.    They talk about solving the water problem in Edgemont and then get elected then you never hear about that problem again.  They only talk about what they do or did for the city.  Never understanding they are suppose to represent District 5 first.  We have been taken for granted as residents and have become apathetic because of the abuse.  I want to stop that.  Its a new day here in Edgemont and I was the only candidate ever to come from Edgemont and run for council.  Since I am from here and still live here, the issues that effect Edgemont effects me and its a priority!  Every council person that has represented this District doesn't live nowhere near Edgemont, so how are we a priority?  Look at our area and compare it to the other areas? Aas we move forward it is no secret that a certain developer wants to buy all the land in Edgemont near the I215 to make it accessible to trucks and warehousing.  By depressing the land value this developer is trying to get the land for as cheap as he can.  Nobody wants to solve the water issue.  So he continues to buy candidates that will do his bidding and vote in his interests.  How do people who don't even live in our area of the city even care about what happens to us?  They don't!   However, I do!  I am on a crusade to change the attitude of how Edgemont is portrayed!  How do I do that?  By raising enough money to compete against these special interest candidates and to run a campaign that can compete with this powerful developer!  I'm gonna need help!  I will not be satisfied until our area is upgraded and becomes what its suppose to be.  The cornerstone of the city.  A place where we can be proud to be from because we are the originals and have much of the most senior residents in the city living in our area.  So let's start to make a real change in Moreno Valley and Edgemont!  - Donovan Saadiq
